1 Samuel 25:29 HCSB When someone pursues you and attempts to take your life, my lord’s (David’s) life will be tucked safely in the place where the LORD your God protects the living. However, He will fling away your enemies lives like stones from a sling.
Ruth 2:12 HCSB “…may you receive a full reward from the Lord under whose wings you have come for refuge.” That place we’re safely tucked might be under His wings.
A Psalmist talks about “He will cover you with His feathers; you will take refuge under His wings.” Psalm 91:4 HCSB
And Jesus told Jerusalem “How many times I longed to take you under my wings.”
When Abigail prayed this prayer in 1 Samuel she didn’t say wings. But somewhere there’s a place of safety and so many places in the Bible it talks about Him hiding us under His wings. To me it’s nice to know that there’s somewhere we can stay that gives security and keeps our family from harm. And it’s even better to believe it’s near Him, under His wings.
