The Road in Our Hearts

And how blessed all those in whom you live, whose lives become roads you travel; 6 They wind through lonesome valleys, come upon brooks, discover cool springs and pools brimming with rain! 7 God-traveled, these roads curve up the mountain, and at the last turn-Zion! God in full view! Psalm 84:5-7 MSG

It’s best to read the whole Psalm 84. It’s about us finding a home in Him and His house. But this paragraph changes directions. In here He makes His home in us.

He lives in us and travels a road in us. I can picture Jesus on the road to Emaus with His disciples. He’s explaining the Scripture to them and about the meaning of His death and that He would come back alive. God walks along with us on our road explaining the answers to spiritual questions we have and ones we haven’t asked.

Then the disciples said about Jesus after he had walked away “Weren’t our hearts strangely warmed within us?” That’s what our God does…moves within our hearts on our road to we don’t know where…to warm and soften our hearts so that  we can be real, genuine and so that we can speak to others and they will find their hearts strangely warmed when they talk to us.

After our journey here is over it continues at the feet of Jesus. We’ll worship Him with our crowns and with our alabaster jars and tears. Then He’ll wipe away our tears and we’ll begin our service to Him in great joy!!
