”We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.” Hebrews 6:18 MSG
We have run from hell to heaven that’s for sure. We have run for our very lives. But we have run from turmoil to peace, from emptiness to love, from guilt to cleansing, from loneliness to Companionship, from common to child of the King. We have run for our very lives! What a beautiful life we have run to inside God. When we ran to Him these are only a few of the precious treasures we found.
One of the other precious treasures we found is the promised hope. And hope placed in our hearts and promised by God Himself is a sure hope…as sure as is His word which never changes. The promised hope is that at the end of our journey we’ll find two nail-scarred feet to bow at, two nail scarred hands to lift us up and a glorious King to clothe us in robes of righteousness from troubled head to calloused toe.
We have every reason to grab the promised hope, hold on with both hands and never let go. It’s our security in a life of uncertainties. But it’s much more than that. The promised hope gives us boldness and tender hearts for those we love so that at the God-appointed time we can speak a short word. Nothing overwhelming will impress, it only pushes away. So hold tight to the hope and never let go. For this world and the other world’s sake.
He holds on to us tighter than we could ever hold on to the hope….
