Every high priest is able to deal with men and women gently since he knows from his own experience. Not just gently but with mercy and compassion.
We each fail and it can bring out the heart in us and the softness in us. In fact without failure and sin and weaknesses our hearts would be oblivious to the pain of others. That’s how God makes a priest…He takes someone who’s humble and gentle because of all they’ve been through and He says “You are mine, a tender liaison between Me and those I seek.
