You don’t make your words true by embellishing them with religious lace. In making your speech sound more religious, it becomes less true.
We can condemn with our speech, we can say only certain traditions are right, we can scare people into the Kingdom. All of these things have their place but we have to be careful when we use them. They can be additions to truth, lace, that squelch hearts. Our speech should be seasoned with grace. So rather than embellishing our speech with religious lace we should speak with a heart of love and truth. Mercy should be the lace we add to the truth.
The more we add fear, condemnation, tradition to our speech the less true it becomes. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that through Him the world might be saved.” John 3:17 And like a flood His mercy rains unending love amazing grace. We, I have such a long way to go. Thank You Lord for Your grace when I don’t speak grace
