Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope…, (1 Peter 1:3 NASB)
When God brought Adam to life He breathed not on him but into his nose and mouth, kind of like a kiss. God breathed into Adam life. The wind and breath are used as symbols for a person’s spirit. So when we are born again we receive a new spirit. We become alive in a way we never had before…alive in a new way. Our hope is alive…breathing, new, moving hope. And it’s because Jesuscame back from the dead to be our Living Hope.
So when I’m down or when you’re discouraged we have a place to go. It’s not an inanimate, pretty, lifeless hope it’s a glorious, ministering, active hope that will heal and give us joy-filled life. A hope that we can love with all our heart….our Savior
