You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11 AMP)
A path is a journey that usually takes a while. And almost always we’re focused on the end…hurry up, let’s get there. But this path is of life…what choices do we make along the way of life? What attitude will we walk with. Who will we choose to walk with? The verse says in His presence is joy, so maybe we could walk with Him. We’d be content, we’d have a best Friend, there’d be wisdom for choices and we wouldn’t focus on the end as much as just enjoying the journey. If we walk holding His hand there are pleasures for the journey as well as tomorrow and forever. Maybe that means chocolate and latte’s maybe it also means we have His word and His Holy Spirit to speak and guide.
I’m trying to keep in mind that I am nothing without Him. The journey is dry and lifeless, and I have no knowledge of His word without His Holy Spirit. I am moment by moment in need of Him. Write this indelibly on my heart, Heavenly Father.
