Awake, alert, watching…those are the qualities we have to work on. Awake is listening to His word and praying like the disciples should have in the Garden of Getsemani. Jesus told them, “the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak.” So we have to allow our flesh to be strengthened by Him. We have to stay alert to Satan the roaring lion. And we have to watch the Eastern sky for the Light that is our Lord coming back…to be expectant.
If we’re awake, alert, watching He will serve us dinner when we get there. Like Peter I’d be inclined to want to serve the King of Kings but He wants it different. We feel we don’t deserve it but He’s fully aware of this world of trouble and pain. And sometimes when you are served by a Gentle Servant it eases the pain and stress of the life you’ve been through on earth. Our Precious Savior.
