We were given grace to save us. We weren’t spiritually worthy or morally perfect before we were saved. He gently came to us and invited us in spite of our flaws. And we said yes.
After we were saved, we probably had no idea “.what next?” or how to live a life pleasing to Him. We’re His skillfully, artistically wrought tapestry already created for good works.
So He saved us by his grace and we’re created for good works. There’s no room for boasting. I like to say thank you when someone compliments me. It’s the gracious thing to do. But I have to keep foremost in my mind that I have nothing without Him. All I have that anyone could enjoy or love is created by My Heavenly Father’s hand. I may not boast.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NASB)
