My Moses

God was angry, furious is more the word. The people of Israel were going to stone the leaders who encouraged them to have faith. God spoke first, the angels were a bit fearful to say anything before Him.. He said “where does that type of blindness come from?”, an object lesson. One of the heavenly beings said “from the evil one?” God said true but there’s more. “God, Sir, did they harden their hearts?” one of the little guys spoke. “You speak truth little one. They’ve been murmuring, complaining, ungrateful and not trusting of Me. How many times have we stopped to discuss these issues?” “Bunches, Sir,” said little one.  “Well put, little guy.”

God asked a question fully aware of the answer. “Guys when I tell Moses I’m going to destroy the people will he say go ahead because he’s furious too?” One of the wiser chimes in, “Moses will plead for them. Where He gets his love and patience I’ll never know.”  God cleared His throat rather loudly. Wise one spoke, “Uh, we’ll, that”s right Lord he gets it straight from You.”

“OK guys here we go. Ready to watch it play out?”

Moses said, “Pardon, I pray, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness, just as You also have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” (Numbers 14:19 NASB)

God smiled, “That’s my Moses.”
