Wind and Sea

But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! (Matthew 8:27 KJV)

Fiction

The disciples were in the boat with Jesus, but the angel of the Wind couldn’t resist. He blew by and tickled Jesus’ face. Jesus was asleep but He ran His hand over His face. It was the angel of the Sea’s turn. He popped some sea foam on Jesus’ nose. Jesus not waking ran His hand down His face. OK this wasn’t working. Gotta stir up the environment a little. Wind and Sea were competing in a game called “Wake the Son.” They so enjoyed Him being on Earth in their territory! Sea started rocking the boat a little at first then he began to increase his efforts. Wind began blowing the sails a little at first then more wildly. Then Sea started crashing waves over the side.

The disciples completely unaware of Wind and Sea’s joyful competition, became frightened and rather terrified. So, they woke Jesus up. Master, we’re going to perish! He said “O you of little faith. I want you to trust Me.” He went to the front of the boat and said rather loudly “Peace! Be still!” he held out His hand and Wind and Sea could tell they were in trouble. No more “Wake the Son” for them. Then, before Jesus went back to His disciples, yep, He winked at Wind and Sea.  So not only were they quiet they were happy, anticipating the next game.

Not everything is a game in life. But I wish I had a better sense of humor, I wish I could lighten up, if I’d just smile more life wouldn’t be so hard.
