… keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:2 HCSB)
At the end of the movie “Sleepless in Seattle” they find each other. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks have been searching somewhat reluctantly for the love that fills, a sweet love that makes them who they were meant to be. A rare love that lasts and is the answer to their hopes and dreams.
Well the moment they find each other their eyes meet and they walk from the top of the Empire State Building to the elevators. Their eyes don’t break their gaze. They walk holding hands, sweetly drinking in their hearts.
Jesus wants our gaze. Whatever we may be doing, our eyes should be watching him. “Jesus, how would you respond?” “Would you help me with this issue?” “How do i forgive?” One day we’ll sit down in heaven and we’ll find our joy and a faith story written by him to read and discover all the hidden, secret, interwoven details.
