Six days after this, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves. And He was transfigured before them and became resplendent with divine brightness. And His garments became glistening, intensely white, as no fuller (cloth dresser, launderer) on earth could bleach them. And Elijah appeared [there] to them, accompanied by Moses, and they were holding [a protracted] conversation with Jesus. (Mark 9:2-4 AMP)
Jesus became bright and glorious,i would say the same way Moses changed when he talked to God only a bit brighter. Elijah and Moses appeared to the guys. And Elijah and Moses were having a lengthy conversation with Jesus. The brightness would be beautiful. But what I want to hear is the lengthy conversation. Was it in heaven’s language? We weren’t meant to hear but i wonder if they were encouraging Him as the cross was approaching.
When you have old friends you want to chat for a while. But if you have a serious ministry and sacrifice ahead you’d be talking, focused on it. It was probably a very difficult message to help Jesus out, sent from His Father.
My pastor was looking for a teacher for a precious delicate class. I had the qualifications but i thought someone was more suited than I. I didn’t pray about it. I started suggesting people. And i lost an opportunity. I learned when someone is talking ministry listen carefully and pray with a willingness of heart.
