Merciful, Loving Father of Orphans

Take with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; …[Heb. 13:15.] Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands [idols], You are our gods. For in You [O Lord] the fatherless find love, pity, and mercy. (Hosea 14:2, 3 AMP)

“Take with you words…” Words are eternal. They can be humble and cause God to look on us with mercy. They can be proud and cause God to say “Talk to the hand.” These people chose humble … “We are sinners. Take away our sin.”

Live in my heart.

Live in my heart.

They realized that another country couldn’t save them. They couldn’t depend on weapons, arsenal, or their horses to save them. They had created idols. How can something you create, something by you, be expected to be worthy of true worship or contain any power at all? The Lord has mercy for children with no father or mother. Those of us with sin are unable to make right ourselves. We are children with no heavenly Father until we come to God and say “We are sinners, Lord, we have no one in heaven or earth besides You.”
