To Know Him

Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5 AMP)

Different is what we each are. No one quite like the other. Snowflakes … the symbol for uniqueness. But we have a calling in common. Monster used to say “Your calling is calling!” We have not a special task like prophecy to the nation maybe. But we all have a calling to be known by Him, we are approved by Him, and we are set apart to be His alone.

The girl or guy that He knows, has revealed their heart to Him. Sometimes it’s easy to converse with Him as if He was physically near. Sometimes a disconcerting event occurs and we find ourselves a bit deaf of His voice. Maybe even our voice seems to go no farther than the ceiling above us. Those times are strangely enough meant to draw us near Him. And they do as we pass through them. He does something through consecration which just means He’s making us holy. It isn’t pleasant … In fact it can be painful and even hellish. Satan asks Jesus for us to be sifted like wheat.  God means it so that we can come through the other side not the same, not bitter, but loving Him like never before. That’s what He longs for.
